Work Days and Sales Hours

Work Days sets how much of a working day each date counts as, so reports can show a fair per-day figure even around holidays and short weeks. Sales Hours, on the same page, sets when your sales team is reachable, so speed-to-lead reporting measures business hours instead of the full wall clock.

Navigate to Settings → Company Settings → Work Days to open this section. Both features must be turned on for your company; contact your administrator if you don't see them.

Overview

A date's Work Days value runs from 0 (not a working day) to 1 (a full working day), in steps as small as 0.01. Reports that compare revenue or activity across periods — most importantly $/Work Day on the Revenue Production Planning report — divide by this value instead of by the calendar day count, so a short week doesn't look like a slow one.

Three things set a date's value, checked in this order:

  1. An override you set for that specific date — always wins.
  2. A Company Holiday — automatically reduces the date's value by the holiday's hours out of an 8-hour day (a full-day holiday brings the date to 0; a half-day holiday to 0.5), on top of the weekly pattern.
  3. The weekly pattern — your default value for that day of the week.

Until you save a weekly pattern, Monday through Friday count as 1 (a full day) and Saturday and Sunday count as 0.

How to Set the Weekly Pattern

  1. Open Settings → Company Settings → Work Days.
  2. Under Weekly pattern, enter a value from 0 to 1 for each day (for example, 0.5 for a day your team only partly works).
  3. Click Save pattern.

Saving the pattern refreshes Revenue Production Planning's $/Work Day column and the Sales KPI report's speed-to-lead figure, so both reflect the new pattern right away.

How to Override a Single Date

Use an override for a one-off change — a snow day, a half-day before a holiday, or correcting a date a Company Holiday already adjusted.

  1. On the Calendar, click the date you want to change.
  2. Enter a Work day value from 0 to 1 and, optionally, a Note explaining the change.
  3. Click Save override.

A date with an override shows a highlighted border on the calendar. To remove it and fall back to the holiday or weekly-pattern value, open the date again and click Remove override.

note

Company Holidays are read-only on this calendar. To change how a holiday affects Work Days, update it under Settings → Company Settings → Company Holidays, or add an override for that specific date.

Sales Hours

The Sales hours card, below the calendar, sets when each branch's sales team is reachable. The Sales KPI report's speed-to-lead figure counts only these hours, so a lead that comes in overnight doesn't look like it waited all night for a response.

  1. Pick a Branch — hours are set separately for each branch you can work in.
  2. For each day of the week, enter a start and end time, or leave both blank to mark the branch closed that day.
  3. Click Save sales hours.

Until you save sales hours for a branch, the report shows that branch's general business hours (set under Settings → Company Settings → General) instead. A day set to 0 in the Work Days weekly pattern or calendar is always treated as closed for sales hours, even if you entered hours for it.

warning

Saving requires both a start and an end time for any day you fill in, and at least one open day for the week. A day with only one of the two times shows an error until you fill in the other or clear both.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Set the weekly pattern first, then use overrides only for exceptions — a pattern change applies going forward without having to touch individual dates.
  • If a branch's sales team keeps different hours than the office (for example, sales answers calls later into the evening), set Sales Hours for that branch rather than relying on its general business hours.
  • Because Work Days feeds both Revenue Production Planning and Sales KPI, a correction you make here — such as fixing a holiday that should have been a half day — updates both reports once saved.
