Settings Overview
The Settings workspace is where you configure how MaidCentral Pulse works for your company. It covers everything from company branding and team structure to quoting rules, integrations, and who can access the system. Each area of Settings is organized into its own section so you can find and change what you need without searching through an unrelated list.
Navigate to Settings using the gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar. You can also press ⌘, (Mac) or Ctrl+, (Windows) from anywhere in the app to jump directly to Settings.
Who Can Access This
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access |
| Office | View and edit |
| HR Admin | View and edit |
| Payroll Admin | View and edit |
| Sales | View only (limited sections) |
| Technician | Not available |
If you don't see a section in Settings, your role may not have permission for it, or it may need to be enabled for your company. Contact your administrator.
How Settings Is Organized
When you open Settings, a sidebar on the left shows six category groups. Click any category to expand it and see its sections. The right side of the page loads the selected section.
Use the search bar at the top to find any setting by name. Type a keyword and matching sections appear — click one to jump directly to it. The search also finds individual Pulse features by name. Choosing one opens Integrations & System → Pulse Features with the list filtered to that feature, so you can turn it on or off there.
For companies with multiple branches, a branch selector appears at the top of the sidebar. Settings you change apply to the selected branch unless a setting is company-wide.

Tips
- Use the search bar when you know the name of the setting you need. Typing a few words is faster than navigating through the sidebar.
- Check the branch selector before saving changes. Some settings apply per branch, not company-wide. Changing the wrong branch is a common source of confusion.
- Feature-gated sections like Localization, Company Holidays, PTO Policies, Break Types, Conditional Logic, Notifications, and MaidSense only appear when those features are enabled for your account. Contact your administrator if you expect to see a section that is missing.
- Review View As activity from Impersonation Sessions when handling an access or support concern.
- Roles & Permissions is a good first stop when a team member reports they cannot access something. Verify the role has the right permission before asking IT for help.
- Audit Log shows who changed what and when. Use it to investigate unexpected behavior in other parts of the app.
- Press ⌘, (or Ctrl+,) to open Settings from any page in the app. This saves time compared to navigating through the sidebar every time.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to Check |
|---|---|
| A section is missing from the sidebar | The feature may not be enabled for your company. Ask an administrator to check Pulse Features |
| I can see a section but cannot save changes | Your role may have read-only access. An administrator can adjust your role permissions |
| Changes I saved are not showing in the app | Confirm you are viewing the correct branch and refresh the page after saving |
| User Management or Roles & Permissions is not visible | These sections require administrator-level access. Contact your system administrator |
| I see Audit Log entries I do not recognize | Audit Log shows all user activity including automated processes. Filter by user or date to narrow results |
