General Settings
The General section is the starting point for setting up your company in MaidCentral Pulse. It holds your company's name and contact details, organization-level information, notification timing rules, attendance thresholds, and how the scheduler looks by default.
Navigate to Settings → Company Settings → General to open this section.
If you don't see General in Settings, your role may not have permission. Contact your administrator.

| Technician | Not available |
Organization Details
The Organization Details card holds the top-level identity for your company group. This is the parent-level information shared across all branches.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Tenant ID | A read-only number that identifies your organization. Share it with support or an integration partner when they ask for it |
| Organization Name | The name of your company group (required, max 100 characters) |
| Website | Your organization's website URL |
| Contact First Name | First name of the main contact for the organization |
| Contact Last Name | Last name of the main contact |
| Primary email address for the organization | |
| Phone | Primary phone number for the organization |
| Description | A short description of your business (max 500 characters) |
Why does Website already show my website?
If your company has one location and no organization website has been entered yet, Website shows the Website URL from Settings → Company Settings → Logos & Branding, which is the website entered when your company was set up. If that address was entered without https://, Pulse adds it. Saving this page for another reason leaves it that way. To use a different organization website, enter it in Website and click Save Changes. MaidCentral V2 leaves the organization's website blank instead. (Pulse reference D-46)
Organization Address
Your organization's address is set under Settings → Company Settings → Addresses, on the Address tab. See Addresses.
Company Information
The Company Information card holds the branch-level details — the name and contact info for the specific branch you are editing. Unlike Organization Details, these values apply to the currently selected branch.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Company Name | The branch's display name, shown throughout the app (required, max 50 characters) |
| Branch ID | A read-only number that identifies this specific branch. Share it with support or an integration partner when they ask for it — it's also shown on the Paystri setup form for this branch |
| Company Abbreviation | Short code for the branch, used in reports and exports (max 50 characters) |
| Timezone | The branch's local timezone — controls how all dates and times are displayed and stored |
| Business Hours | Opening and closing times for the branch. Also sets how early and late the technician Default Schedule grid and its time pickers extend (never narrower than 7 AM-9 PM), and the range the Schedule timeline shows in Business Hours mode (one hour before opening to one hour after closing) |
| Company Phone | Main business phone number |
| Company Phone (Sales) | Separate phone number for the sales team |
| Company Email | Primary business email address |
| Company Email (Sales) | Separate email address for the sales team |
The Timezone setting affects all dates, times, and scheduling across the entire branch. Changing it after data has been created can shift how existing records appear. Update this setting carefully and confirm with your team before saving.
If your branch is part of a franchise network, the Company Information card also shows a read-only Franchise Code. It's set by your franchisor, so there's nothing to change here.
Where do I find my Tenant ID or Branch ID?
Tenant ID is on the Organization Details card and identifies your whole organization. Branch ID is on the Company Information card and identifies the branch you're currently viewing — switch branches to see another branch's ID. Both are read-only; support and integration partners sometimes ask for one of these to confirm which account or branch they're working with.
Notification Settings
The Notification Settings card controls when and where automated notifications are sent for your branch.
Notification Window
The notification window defines the time range before a job's scheduled start time during which notifications can be sent to customers. Jobs that fall outside this window are flagged on the Schedule page.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Window Start (minutes) | How many minutes before a shift to start sending notifications |
| Window End (minutes) | How many minutes before a shift to stop sending notifications |
For example, setting Window Start to 60 and Window End to 30 means notifications go out between 60 and 30 minutes before each shift starts. A job rescheduled to a time outside this window appears in the alerts sidebar on the Schedule page (the Flagged Jobs tab when collapsed) as an Outside Window alert (in Classic Experience Mode, under Job Notifications).
Individual jobs can override the company-wide notification window. If a VIP customer needs a different notification timing, the override can be set on the specific job without changing the company-wide setting.
Daily Notification
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Daily Notification Time | The time of day when daily summary notifications are sent (24-hour format, for example 08:00 or 17:30) |
Text Notifications
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Text Notification Emails | Email addresses that receive text notification alerts. Press Enter or comma to add each address |
| Text Notification Delay (seconds) | How long to wait before sending a text notification alert after the trigger event. Use a short delay to reduce noise from rapid events |
Week in Review
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Week in Review Emails | Email addresses that receive the weekly summary report. Press Enter or comma to add each address |
These settings control when and where notifications are sent. To configure which notification events are enabled by default for new customer contacts (appointment reminders, on-the-way alerts, scorecards, invoices), see Default Customer Notifications.
Employee Schedule Settings
The Employee Schedule Settings card defines how attendance is tracked and how route timing is calculated.
Attendance Tracking
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Allowed Unexcused (per 6 months) | The maximum number of unexcused absences allowed in a 6-month period before action is triggered |
| Hours Before Shift = Emergency | A call-out within this many hours of shift start is marked as an emergency absence |
| # Tardies = 1 Unexcused | How many tardies add up to one unexcused absence |
| Late Grace Period (minutes) | How many minutes after shift start before the system marks a technician as late |
Schedule Timing
These fields add buffer time to each technician's route to account for preparation and wrap-up.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Startup Time (minutes) | Time added at the start of each route for preparation |
| Wrapup Time (minutes) | Time added at the end of each route for end-of-day tasks |
| Tech Job Visibility (minutes) | How many minutes before their shift start technicians can see their jobs in the mobile app |
Tech Check-In
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Tech Check-In Warning Text | A message displayed to technicians when they check in. Use this to remind them of important policies or procedures (max 1,000 characters) |
Scheduler Preferences
The Scheduler Preferences card controls the default appearance and behavior of the Schedule page. These settings apply to all users at your branch when they open the scheduler.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Display Right Side by Default | When on, the right panel automatically opens when the scheduler loads |
| Highlight Team Availability | When on, team availability windows are highlighted on the schedule |
| Snap to Time Slot Increments | When on, jobs snap to the time grid when dragged on the scheduler |
| Show Business Hours by Default | When on, the scheduler limits its visible range to business hours when it first loads |
| Default Scheduler View | The default time slot size — choose 15 min slots, 30 min slots, or 1 hour slots |
| Background Color | The scheduler's background color, entered as a hex value such as #F0F4F8 |
How to Save Changes
- Make your changes in any card.
- A Save Changes button appears at the bottom of the page when you have unsaved edits.
- Click Save Changes to apply.
- A success message confirms the save. You can also click Reset to discard unsaved changes.
Tips
- Set Company Name and Timezone first. These two fields affect the most visible parts of the app. Get them right before configuring anything else.
- Use separate sales phone and email if your sales team needs to be reached independently of the main office. Quotes and customer communications can use the sales contact info.
- Startup and Wrapup times affect route duration. If technicians have a consistent travel prep routine, adding a few minutes here prevents route times from looking shorter than they actually are.
- Tech Job Visibility controls when techs see their day. Setting this too far in advance (like 12 hours) means techs see jobs from the previous day and can be confused. Setting it too short (under 30 minutes) can catch them off guard. Sixty minutes is a common default.
- The Check-In Warning Text is a good place for daily reminders. Some companies use it to remind technicians to check their uniform, bring their supplies, or confirm their schedule.
- Snap to Grid keeps the schedule clean. When turned on, dragging jobs to a new time snaps to the nearest slot increment instead of landing at odd minutes like 9:07 AM.
- Background Color is cosmetic only. It has no effect on scheduling logic. Use it to make the scheduler feel less stark on large monitor setups.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to Check |
|---|---|
| General does not appear in the Settings sidebar | Your role may not have permission to view General settings. Ask an administrator |
| Save Changes button is not visible | You may not have edit permissions. The page may be in read-only mode for your role |
| Timezone change did not affect existing records | Timezone changes apply to how times are displayed going forward. Historical records display in the new timezone as well, but underlying times are unchanged |
| Tech job visibility is not working as expected | Confirm the value is set in minutes, not hours. A value of 60 means 60 minutes, not 60 hours |
| Notification emails are not being received | Check that email addresses are entered correctly and separated by pressing Enter or comma. Verify your email integration is active |
