Add Service
To add a new service to a property an existing customer already has, use the Add Service button on that property in the customer's Service Locations tab. It opens the Full-Page Estimate with the customer and home already selected, so you go straight to choosing the service and pricing it.
To add a service set without quoting (for example, when the price was agreed on site), use Create Service Set in the same Services list instead. See Adding a Service Set.
Opening the Quote
- Open a customer record and go to the Service Locations tab.
- Expand the property you want to add a service to.
- In the property's Services list, click Add Service.
The full page quote opens with:
- The customer's name, email, and phone already filled in on the Profile step.
- The home you clicked selected in the Home picker, with its address and its bedrooms, bathrooms, stories, and square footage filled in.
You can pick a different saved home from the Home picker, or choose New address to quote a different address. Changing the street or ZIP code also switches the picker to no home. Every home detail stays editable, so you can correct anything that is missing or out of date before pricing.
If the customer has no properties yet, the Service Locations tab shows No Service Locations and an Add Property button instead (some companies also see Add Property & Quote, which opens the full page quote for the customer so you can enter the new address there). Add the property first, then add the service.
If you are working in one branch and the customer belongs to another branch you have access to, Pulse switches you to the customer's branch when the quote opens and tells you it did.
Building the Quote
The full page quote walks through Profile, Pricing, Booking, and Scheduling. For each step, see Full-Page Estimate.
Because the customer already exists, clicking Next: Pricing does not save a new lead. Pulse moves straight to Pricing.
Frequency options
The frequencies you can pick depend on which ones are set up for the scope you choose. They always appear in this order:
| Frequency | How often |
|---|---|
| Every Week | Every week |
| Every Two Weeks | Every two weeks |
| Every Three Weeks | Every three weeks |
| Every Four Weeks | Every four weeks (a 28-day cycle), shown as E4 in some views |
| Other Recurring | A recurring pattern other than the standard intervals above |
| Single | One visit only |
| On Demand | One visit only (handled the same way as Single when you book it) |
Every Four Weeks is often called "monthly," but it repeats every 28 days, not on the same date each calendar month. Over a year that is 13 visits, not 12.
Saving
You do not have to book right away. From Pricing you can:
- Save & Send Quote to save the quote and send it to the customer by email or text.
- Save & Continue to save the quote and move on to Booking and Scheduling. When nothing changed since the quote was last saved, it reads Continue and moves on without saving again. It stays greyed out until every question your company marked Required on Pricing is answered.
On Scheduling, Save Quote saves the quote without booking, and Save Quote & Book books the first job and creates the service.
The saved quote is linked to the customer and the home you picked, and appears in the customer's quotes. The Quote Saved confirmation has a View Customer link that takes you back to the customer's record.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | Solution |
|---|---|
| The customer has no Add Service button | The customer has no properties yet. Add a property on the Service Locations tab first. |
| The home's bedrooms or square footage are blank | Nothing is on file for that home yet. Enter the values on the Pricing step before pricing. |
| Pricing is not calculating | Make sure you have selected both a scope and a frequency. Pricing requires both values. |
| A permission error when you save or book | Quoting needs permission to create quotes, and booking needs permission to create jobs. Contact your administrator. |
