Route Map and Route List

The Route tab in Schedule gives you two ways to review and optimize daily routes. Map view shows the team roster on the left and the map on the right, with each team's route thread on the map. List view shows efficiency metrics, mileage totals, and the full stop-by-stop timeline for each team.

Team cards appear in your configured team sort order — using each view's API-provided order (in both Map and List view); existing API handling of missing or tied sort values is unchanged.

Use the Route tab before teams leave each morning — it is the fastest way to spot long drives, unassigned jobs, and route imbalances before they cause problems in the field.

note

The map requires a map provider to be configured for your company. If the map does not load or is not visible, contact your administrator. Route List is always available regardless of map configuration.

note

Branches set up with a Canadian address show every distance on this tab — mileage totals, drive-leg distances, and savings estimates — in kilometers instead of miles.

Opening the Route Tab

  1. Go to Office > Schedule.
  2. Click the Route tab near the top of the Schedule page.

The tab opens in Map view by default when a map provider is configured. Switch between Map and List using the toggle at the top of the Route tab.

note

Coming from the old MaidCentral? The Schedule Efficiency Map is now the Route tab on the Schedule page.

Map View

Map view splits the screen into two panels. The team cards appear in the left panel. The map fills the remaining space on the right.

What do the pin colors mean?

Pins match the color of the team the job is assigned to. The route line for a team uses the same color. A pin with a different look is the technician's home, which marks where the team's route starts and ends.

To color pins by service zone instead, open Zones on the map and choose Zone. Your choice is remembered.

The Map

The map shows pins for every job scheduled for the selected date. Each pin indicates a job location. When you select a team, the map also draws a route line connecting that team's jobs in order, starting from the lead technician's home and ending back at home.

Map markers include:

  • Job pins — one per scheduled job, clustered when jobs are close together
  • Office location — your company's office or branch address
  • Technician home markers — the lead technician's home address for each team
  • Route line — colored by team, shown when a team is selected in the right panel

Click any job pin on the map to open the Job Detail drawer. Hovering a pin highlights that team's route and card and fades the other teams' pins; focusing a team shows each customer's name beside its stop.

Hover a team card, or focus a team (the map icon on its card), and the map draws that team's route as a solid line from the start anchor through its stops; while a team is focused no other team's route is drawn. While the road route loads — or when road routing is unavailable — the line is a dashed straight-line estimate; the map key labels both. Routes you have already looked at stay on the map, faded, until you leave the page.

Service zones render filled in their colors, as in V2. The Zones button opens a small panel where you can hide them, switch to outlines only so route lines stay readable, see the zone color key, and choose whether pins and route lines are colored by Team (the default, as in V2) or by Zone. Your choice is remembered. Fit All zooms the map back out to every job on the day. The layers button in the top-right corner switches the map between Street and Satellite views, and your choice is remembered.

Searching an address drops a blue pin at the result and centers the map on it; the next search moves the pin.

An address search box in the top-left corner of the map lets you type any address and jump the map to that location, so you can quickly check the map against a specific address without scrolling or zooming manually.

Team Cards (Map View)

Each active team appears as a collapsible card in the right panel. Cards show only teams that have jobs scheduled or technicians working that day.

Card header — colored in the team's color. Shows:

  • Team name
  • Technician avatar photos (up to three shown; +N badge for more)
  • A map icon button — click it to draw or hide that team's route on the map

Click the team header to expand or collapse the job list below it.

On today's date the header also shows the team's live status from the field — Not started, On stop 2 of 3, Driving to stop 3 of 3, or Done for the day — read from the technicians' clock-ins.

Summary — the same four numbers V2 shows, each labeled: Clock time, Job time, Efficiency, and Revenue. Efficiency reads On target, Near target, or Below target against your company's efficiency target (plain when no target is configured). Under them sits a day bar — a thin proportional bar where solid color is job time, hatched segments are drive time, and plain segments are startup/wrap-up — and one line with the day span, job count, and total miles (paid miles in parentheses).

Footer — below the stop list: Clock drive, Clock miles, Rev / total hr, and Rev / job hr. When an optimized route is available, the drive and miles cells show how much it would save (green) or cost (red).

Collapsed cards keep a one-line summary (jobs · day span · efficiency · revenue) so you can scan the whole day without expanding anything. Click a card header to expand or collapse it.

If payroll is already closed for this date, a Payroll Closed badge appears in the stats bar and the route is read-only.

Route timeline — the stop-by-stop schedule below the stats bar. Each team's timeline starts at the beginning of the day and ends at wrap-up:

EntryWhat It Shows
Startup TimeThe prep time before the team leaves
HomeLead technician's home address and departure time
Drive indicatorDrive minutes and miles to the next stop
Job cardNumbered stop, customer name, time, street address
Drive indicatorDrive minutes and miles to the next stop
HomeArrival time when the team returns
Wrap Up TimePost-route wrap-up and the day's end time

Route numbers use the job's zone color. The connector lines between stops use the team's color.

Job cards in the route show:

  • A numbered circle (zone-colored) for the stop sequence
  • Customer name and any scheduling requirement badges
  • Scheduled time range and street address
  • Drive time badge when the drive to this stop is notable
  • MaidSense insights — Opportunity cards now display MaidSense-powered insights when available. These insights highlight optimization suggestions such as nearby upsell opportunities, scheduling gaps that could be filled, or route efficiency recommendations specific to that stop.

For unassigned jobs, cards show job duration and a time preference badge instead of a scheduled time:

BadgeMeans
Red — StrictCustomer requires this time window — must be honored
Orange — PreferredCustomer prefers this time window
Gray — FlexibleCustomer has no strong time preference

Moving Jobs Between Teams

Job cards on the Route tab can't be dragged. To move a job to another team or change its time:

The stops on each team's route follow the jobs' scheduled times. To change the order of a team's stops, change the jobs' times.

List View

List view replaces the map with a data-focused breakdown of every team's route. Use this view when you want numbers — total revenue, mileage, drive time, and efficiency — rather than geographic context.

Summary Stats

At the top of the list, a row of stat cards shows totals for the entire day:

StatWhat It Shows
Active RoutesNumber of teams with jobs scheduled
Total JobsCount of all scheduled jobs
Total HoursPlanned job hours and clock hours
Avg EfficiencyAverage efficiency across all teams
UnassignedCount of jobs without a team (amber when > 0)

A second row shows:

StatWhat It Shows
Total RevenueSum of all job fees for the day
Total MilesTotal drive distance (paid miles shown separately)
Drive TimeTotal time spent driving across all teams
Potential SavingsMiles and minutes that could be saved with route optimization

When routes are already optimized, the Potential Savings card shows Routes Optimized in green.

note

Summary stats and route suggestions are powered by MaidSense. They update each time you load the Route tab.

Team Efficiency Cards

Each team appears as an expandable card below the summary. Expand a card to see the full stop-by-stop route with timing and mileage for each leg.

Click a job stop in the list to open its Job Detail drawer.

If a team has no jobs scheduled, it does not appear in the list.

Unassigned Jobs Warning

When jobs have no team assigned, an amber warning card appears at the bottom of the list showing the count. Unassigned jobs need to be assigned before teams go out. Switch to Map view or Timeline view to assign them.

Tips

  • Review Route before first dispatch. Open the Route tab 30–60 minutes before teams leave to check for long drives, unassigned jobs, and time conflicts.
  • Click a team's map icon to focus their route. The map draws the team's real road route and fits to their stops. Click again to clear it.
  • Hover a team card to trace it on the map. Its dashed thread brightens while the others fade — the fastest way to see which neighborhoods a team covers.
  • Use the stats bar to spot inefficient teams. A low efficiency percentage means technicians are spending more time on drive and prep than on jobs. Check their route on the map to see whether moving a stop to another time would shorten the drive.
  • Check Potential Savings. If the Potential Savings card in List view shows significant miles or minutes, consider changing the times of the affected team's stops on the Timeline view.
  • Paid vs. total miles. Paid miles are the drive legs between jobs (job to job). Total miles include driving from home to the first job and back home at the end. The distinction matters for mileage reimbursement reporting.

Troubleshooting

The map is blank or shows an error

Your company's map provider may not be configured or may be experiencing an issue. Switch to List view to continue planning without the map. Contact your administrator to check the map configuration.

No teams appear in the right panel

Only teams with jobs scheduled for the selected date or with technicians scheduled to work appear in the Route view. If all teams are hidden, check the selected date using the date picker at the top of the Schedule page, or switch to the Timeline view to confirm jobs are scheduled.

Drive times look wrong or are missing

Drive time calculations depend on job location data. If a customer's address has not been geocoded, the system cannot calculate a drive time for that stop. Verify that the customer's address is complete and correct in their profile.

The stats bar shows 0% efficiency

Efficiency calculates as job time divided by total clock time. If a team has no scheduled jobs (just technicians blocked for the day) or the date has not yet occurred, efficiency may show as zero. This is expected for future dates with incomplete schedules.

The Potential Savings card does not appear

Potential Savings only appears in List view when the route analysis detects optimization opportunities. If all routes are already optimal for the day, the card shows "Routes Optimized" instead.

Troubleshooting Map Pins and Addresses

Why does a job appear at the wrong location on the map?

Map pins do not read the address text directly. Each pin is placed using the saved map coordinates on the customer's property record. Those coordinates are set automatically: when a property is created, or when its address is edited, the system looks up the full address — street, unit, city, state, and ZIP — and saves the best matching location. Opening the Route tab does the same for any property on that day's routes that has no saved location yet, so its pin and drive times appear from then on.

That lookup uses the best match it can find. If the address has a typo, a missing city, or a street name that exists in more than one town, the best match can land in the wrong place — sometimes a different city entirely. And if the lookup fails when an address is edited, the address text updates but the old coordinates stay behind, so the pin does not move.

A property whose address cannot be looked up may not get a pin on the map, or may show at a rough estimated spot far from the real home, depending on which map your company uses.

What should I check first?

Start with the property address on the customer record:

  1. Open the customer and find the Service Locations section.
  2. Check the map there. If a property has no saved location, a message appears below the map — "property needs map location" — with a button for that property. Click it to look the address up again. A Location Updated message confirms it worked; Geocoding Failed means the address could not be resolved as written.
  3. If the address looks wrong or incomplete, click Edit Property and correct the Street Address, Address Line 2, City, and State / ZIP fields. Saving a changed address triggers a fresh location lookup automatically.

After fixing the address, reload the Route tab and confirm the pin moved.

The address is correct but the pin is still wrong — what do I send support?

If the address is complete and accurate but the map still places the home in the wrong spot, contact support with:

  • The customer name and the property's full address exactly as entered
  • A screenshot of the map showing where the pin lands
  • The schedule date and the view you were using (Route Map)

Support can force a fresh location lookup on the property and check whether the saved coordinates match the address on file.
