Schedule Overview

The Schedule page is where dispatchers and office teams plan the day, rebalance workload, and keep routes efficient. It combines timeline scheduling, calendar planning, recurring patterns, and route management in one place.

note

Some tools in Schedule are feature-gated for your company. For example, Team Size controls appear only when the related Schedule features are enabled.

Getting to the Schedule

Go to Office > Schedule from the left navigation. On desktop, the page opens with tabbed views. On mobile, it opens in a simplified two-tab layout.

Choosing a Date

Use the date picker and left/right arrows in the top toolbar to move day by day. The selected date is saved in the URL (scheduleDate=YYYY-MM-DD) so page refreshes and shared links keep the same date context.

Schedule Views

Pulse gives you four desktop views and two mobile views.

Timeline (Gantt)

The Timeline tab (internally the Gantt view) is the primary dispatch board. It shows teams as rows and time across the top, with jobs displayed as draggable blocks.

Use it when you need to:

  • Reassign work between teams
  • Move start times quickly
  • Spot open capacity and conflicts
  • Handle same-day dispatch changes

Timeline also includes:

  • Search by customer, address, home name, team, or technician
  • Global filters (team, technician, status, zone, frequency, service set, tags, Event Tags, Hide Events, postal code)
  • Alerts sidebar (labeled Flagged Jobs when collapsed) for violations and issues
  • Business Hours / All Hours display mode
  • Quick actions from job cards and job detail drawers

Calendar

The Calendar tab supports month, week, and day layouts. Use this view for planning volume, seeing workload trends, and opening jobs and events by date. You can still drill into job details or add jobs/events from here.

Master Schedule

The Master Schedule tab is for recurring pattern management. It organizes work across cycle weeks and helps you place recurring jobs into the right cadence.

Use Master Schedule when you need to:

  • Manage weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly recurring patterns
  • Move recurring jobs between cycle weeks
  • Review waiting recurring jobs
  • Compare team load over recurring cycles

Route

The Route tab has two sub-modes:

  • Map mode for geographic route planning
  • List mode for ordered route review and dispatch sequencing

This view is best before teams leave for the day or when rebalancing travel time.

Mobile Views

On mobile, Schedule focuses on speed:

  • Timeline (mobile timeline + map)
  • Routes (mobile route map)

Mobile actions include quick job operations (reschedule, bump, skip, lockout, cancel future) and an Alerts sheet (opened with the flagged-jobs button).

Working with Jobs and Events

Open and edit a job

  1. Click any job card in Timeline, Calendar, Master, or Route views.
  2. Review details in the job detail drawer.
  3. Use quick actions to move, skip, cancel, lockout, or modify recurring behavior.

Add or edit an event

  1. Click Add Event in the Schedule toolbar.
  2. Complete event details and save.
  3. Open existing events from the schedule to edit or delete when needed.

Reassign between teams

  • Use Timeline drag-and-drop for time and team updates.
  • Use assignment drawers when you need more control than a direct drag action.

Team Size Controls

If your company has Team Size features enabled, you will see a Team Size button in the toolbar. This opens team-size overrides for the selected date.

Use this to handle sick days, vacation coverage, and temporary staffing changes without reworking the entire day.

Go to Timesheets

A Go to Timesheets button appears in the Schedule toolbar. Click it to navigate directly to the Timesheets page for the currently selected date. This saves time when you need to cross-reference clock data with the schedule without manually navigating and re-entering the date.

Best Practices

  • Start in Timeline for same-day dispatch decisions.
  • Use Route map before first departure to reduce travel waste.
  • Check the Alerts sidebar early so conflicts are handled before technicians arrive.
  • Use Calendar for planning capacity across weeks and months.
  • Use Master Schedule for recurring pattern design, not same-day dispatching.
  • Use the Go to Timesheets button to quickly jump to time tracking for the same day you are viewing on the schedule.

Troubleshooting

I cannot see a job I expected

What to check:

  1. Verify the selected date.
  2. Clear search text and active filters.
  3. Confirm the job is not in a hidden state (for example waiting/unassigned in a different panel).
  4. Switch views (Timeline vs Route) to confirm whether it is assigned.

I cannot edit or move jobs

Your role may be read-only for schedule actions. Technicians usually have view-level schedule access while office/admin roles can manage schedule changes.

If you are an office user and controls are still missing, ask your admin to verify:

  • Company feature enablement for Schedule sub-features
  • Your role permissions for schedule/team/event operations

Route map is not available

Map display depends on your tenant map provider setup. If map fails to load, switch to Route list mode and notify your administrator.
