Job Detail Drawer
The Job Detail Drawer opens when you click a job on the schedule. It gives you a full view of everything related to that job — customer and home details, billing, timesheets, notes, photos, instructions, and quality inspections — all in one place. You can also edit job fields and take actions like rescheduling or canceling directly from the drawer.
Who Can Access This
| Role | Access Level |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access |
| Office | Full access |
| Sales | Full access |
| HR Admin | Full access |
| Payroll Admin | Full access |
Pay amounts in the Timesheets section are shown only to Administrators and Payroll Admins.
If you don't see this feature, your role may not have permission. Contact your administrator.
Opening the Drawer
Click any job block on the schedule. The drawer opens on the right side of the screen. On mobile, it slides up from the bottom.
The header shows the most important job details at a glance:
- Customer name — click to access customer quick actions
- Address — the service location
- Price — the current job rate
- Scheduled time — start and end time (for example, "8:00 AM – 10:30 AM")
- Job ID and date — the job number and scheduled date
- Status badge — the current status with color coding
Job Lifecycle Tracker
A row of step indicators appears below the header. It shows which events have occurred for the job and which are still pending.
| Step | What It Tracks |
|---|---|
| Reminder | Pre-service notifications sent to the customer |
| On the Way | On-the-way notification sent by the team |
| Started | Time when a technician clocked in |
| Completed | Time when all technicians clocked out and the job was marked complete |
| Scorecard | Whether the customer submitted a satisfaction scorecard |
| Invoice | Whether the job has been invoiced or closed |
Hover over any step to see the date, time, or additional details such as the customer's scorecard response.
Tabs
The drawer has five tabs. On mobile, Summary is labeled Info and Rooms and Inspections show icons instead of text labels.
| Tab | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Summary | Customer, home, service details, timesheets, and billing |
| Rooms | Room-by-room scope with fees and allowed time |
| Notes & Photos | Job notes, tickets, notification history, and photos |
| Instructions | Cleaning instructions for the home and service set |
| Inspections | Quality inspection records and grades |
Summary Tab
The Summary tab is organized into several sections.
Locked Job Notice
Only pending jobs can be edited. On any other job, for example a skipped, locked-out, cancelled or closed one, a notice appears at the top of the Summary tab, and the Service & Job fields, room add-ons and Save are not available.
- Closed job: for users other than Super Administrators, the notice reads This job is closed and cannot be edited. Timesheets can't be added or changed either. Super Administrators can still add and change timesheets; they see Only pending jobs can be edited. Timesheets can still be added and changed. Job fields and Save remain unavailable to everyone on a closed job.
- Any other job that isn't pending: the notice reads Only pending jobs can be edited. Timesheets can still be added and changed.
A pending job stays editable after invoicing has run, including when it has an invoice. Your edits don't change an invoice that already exists.
MaidSense Alerts and Insights
If MaidSense has flagged an issue for this job, an alert banner shows the number of active alerts. Hover over View Details to see each alert and its recommendation. MaidSense insights also appear on opportunity cards in the Route view, providing optimization suggestions specific to each stop on the route.
Customer Section
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Preferred | The customer's preferred contact method and value |
| Phone | Tap or click to call directly |
| Tap or click to compose an email | |
| Billing Terms | The billing terms on file for this customer |
| Satisfaction | The customer's average satisfaction rating out of 5 |
| Tech Preferences | Whether the assigned technician matches the customer's preference |
Customer tags appear below the contact fields if any are assigned.
Home Section
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Property Name | The home's name or identifier |
| Address | Full street address with city, state, and zip |
| Property | Square footage, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Bathrooms show as full/half, so a home with 2 full baths and 1 half bath reads 2/1 bath. With no half baths it reads 2 bath. Bathrooms are left out if the home has none entered |
| Zone | The zone the property belongs to, shown as a colored badge |
Home tags appear below the property details if any are assigned.
Service & Job Section
This section shows how the job is scheduled and configured. Fields are always editable on pending jobs — no separate edit mode or button needed. The one exception is the Scheduled Time: once a technician has clocked in, it can't be changed, and a note under it says why.
Visible fields:
- Service Type — The type of service and frequency (for example, Weekly or Bi-weekly)
- Scheduled — Date and start time, plus any time preference window
- Allowed Labor Hours — The number of labor hours budgeted for this job
- Allowed Clock Hours — The time the team should spend in the home: allowed labor hours divided by the technicians working the job. This matches the clock hours shown on the Timeline. When the drawer can't tell how many technicians are working, it shows the job's scheduled length instead
- Team — Assigned teams shown as badge chips. Click the × on any chip to remove that team. Click Add Team to assign a new one.
- Tags — Tags applied to this job occurrence
- Job Instructions — Instructions for this job only. They don't appear on other appointments in the service. For a note on every visit, use Service Set Instructions on the Instructions tab.
Editing fields:
Click directly on any editable field to change it. When you change the time or team, a checkbox appears: Update This and Future Jobs? Check this to apply the change to all future occurrences in the recurring series.
Save and Cancel buttons appear in the sticky footer at the bottom of the drawer whenever you have unsaved changes. Click Save to apply, or Cancel to discard your edits.
Timesheets Section
Shows a timesheet entry for each technician assigned to the job. Each entry displays the technician's name, clock-in and clock-out times, and total hours. Administrators, Office, Sales, HR Admin, and Payroll Admin can add new entries or edit existing ones. Pay columns appear only for Administrators and Payroll Admins.
Billing Section
Shows the billing breakdown for this job, including the base fee, any rate modifications, and the total job price. If you have permission, you can add a fee or edit the base fee from this section.
Notes & Photos Tab
The Notes & Photos tab has two sections side by side.
Notes shows all notes, contact tickets, and notification records for this job. Click Add to create a new note. Select a Note Type (Office Note or Technician Note) and a Category before writing the note.
Each contact ticket shows an Open Ticket or Closed badge. If a closed ticket has a close note, click Show more to see it.
Photos shows photos attached to this job. Use the upload button to add a new photo. Click any photo to view it full size. You can download or delete photos from this tab.
Instructions Tab
Shows the cleaning instructions for this job, organized by source: the home and the service set. Click any section to expand it and read the full instructions.
You can edit instructions directly in this tab. Each section saves to its source, and that decides where the change shows:
- Home sections (such as access information, pets, and the home's special instructions) show on every job at this property.
- Service Set Instructions and Service Set Equipment show on every appointment in this service, past and future.
Instructions for this job only go in Job Instructions on the Summary tab.
Inspections Tab
Shows quality inspection records for this job. Each record includes the inspector, the date, a grade, and any notes. If no inspection has been completed yet, the tab shows an empty state.
Actions Menu
A sticky footer at the bottom of the drawer contains an Actions button with the following options:
| Action | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Reschedule Job | Opens the reschedule workflow to move this job to a new date |
| Cancel/Skip Job | Skips or cancels this job occurrence and records a reason |
| Lock Out Job | Records a property lockout and cancels the job |
| Modify Schedule | Opens the service schedule manager to change recurring settings |
| Cancel All Future Jobs | Cancels all future occurrences of this recurring job |
| Create Ticket | Creates a contact ticket for this customer linked to this job |
| View Customer | Opens the full customer record in a side panel |
| Respond to Scorecard / View / Update Scorecard | Records a customer satisfaction scorecard response on the customer's behalf, or opens the existing one to update it. Label switches to View / Update Scorecard once a response already exists. |
A Close button on the right side of the footer closes the drawer.
Cancelling a job, either from Cancel/Skip Job or with Cancel All Future Jobs, is available to Administrator, Office, Sales, HR Admin, and Payroll Admin. Technicians cannot cancel jobs. Anyone who can edit the job can still skip it.
Responding to a Scorecard for a Customer
If a customer calls in their scorecard response instead of submitting it themselves, office staff can record it directly from the job without leaving the schedule:
- Open the job's Actions menu and select Respond to Scorecard (or View / Update Scorecard if a response is already on file).
- Select a star rating (1-5, required) and optionally add a comment.
- If your company allows customers to leave a tip on their scorecard, an optional tip amount field also appears — enter a value to record a tip alongside the response, or leave it as-is to skip it.
- Save. The rating saves first; if the tip fails to save for any reason, you'll see a warning but the rating you entered is not lost.
View / Update Scorecard adds a second response rather than changing the first, and Scorecard Results shows the newest one. The new response starts out included in metrics and not marked as a testimonial, even if you had excluded or flagged the earlier one. See Scorecard Results.
This action appears only when your company has the Respond To Scorecard Drawer feature enabled (on by default) and you have job-update permission. The optional tip field additionally requires the customer-tip feature, and only Administrators can save it because tips are part of invoicing.
Cancel All Future Jobs is permanent. It cancels every upcoming occurrence in the recurring series. Use this only when you intend to end service for this customer.
Tips
- Edit fields directly. The Service & Job section is always editable on pending jobs. Click any field and type or select a new value — no need to enter a separate edit mode first. The Scheduled Time is read-only once the job has timesheets.
- Use badge chips for team changes. Remove a team by clicking the × on their chip. Add teams with the Add Team button. Changes apply when you click Save in the footer.
- Check "Update This and Future Jobs" carefully. Checking this box applies the time or team change to all future occurrences in the recurring series, not just today's job.
- Check the Lifecycle Tracker before calling. Hover over the Reminder step to see which pre-service notifications were already sent to the customer.
- Update instructions from here. No need to navigate to the customer or property record — edit instructions directly from the Instructions tab.
- Review MaidSense alerts before dispatching. Alerts appear at the top of the Summary tab and include actionable recommendations.
- Timesheets stay current. If a technician is actively clocked in, their entry reflects the current in-progress status.
Troubleshooting
Fields in the Service & Job section are not editable
Only pending jobs can be edited. A skipped, locked-out, cancelled or closed job shows a notice at the top of the Summary tab that says so. Running invoicing on a pending job does not lock it.
If only the Scheduled Time is greyed out, read the note under it. Usually the job has timesheets: a technician has clocked in, or has already clocked out. Moving the job would put the schedule out of step with the recorded time, so the time can't be changed. The field is also greyed out briefly while Pulse checks for timesheets, and stays greyed out if that check fails — close and reopen the job to try again. Team and other fields stay editable.
The timesheets section is empty
Timesheets only appear after an entry has been created for this job. If the section is empty, no timesheet records exist yet. Use the Add Timesheet button if your role can edit timesheets (Administrator, Office, Sales, HR Admin, or Payroll Admin).
The billing section shows no data
Billing information loads when the Summary tab opens. If the section is empty or shows a loading indicator, the job may not have a service set configured. Contact your administrator if the issue persists.
MaidSense alerts are not visible
Alerts only appear when MaidSense detects an issue. If no alerts are shown, no issues were identified for this job.
The Inspections tab is empty
Quality inspections only appear after they have been submitted. The empty state is normal if no inspection has been completed yet.
Actions are not responding
Some actions require additional permissions. If a menu item does not work, contact your administrator to confirm your role has the required access.
