Standard Team Update Workflow

Permission behavior:
- Users with permission to create teams can create teams.
- Users with permission to update teams can edit team settings/members.
- Users with permission to delete teams can deactivate teams.
Schedule Tab (Daily Active Coverage)
The Schedule tab uses a team-centric planning board with a sidebar + Gantt timeline model.
What you can do:
- Pick a date and view active team schedules
- Drag technicians into schedule slots
- Click schedule bars to edit shifts
- Create, update, and remove schedule blocks
- Review absent employee context while staffing
This view is best for same-day or short-range operational changes.
Default Schedule Tab (Pattern Planning)
Use Default Schedule for recurring baseline staffing patterns.
Highlights:
- Week-level schedule patterns by team
- Row or stacked display mode
- Effective date controls (view schedule as-of a date)
- Start/end office location filters
- Unassigned technician sidebar
- Drag-and-drop assignment and block adjustment
Use this tab for long-term template planning, then use the Schedule tab for day-of execution.
Practical Operating Rhythm
- Build and maintain team membership in Teams.
- Set baseline recurring coverage in Default Schedule.
- Adjust daily execution in Schedule.
- Return to Teams when staffing or role changes are needed.
Troubleshooting
Drag-and-drop does not save
Confirm your role includes schedule/team update permissions and retry. If it still fails, refresh and check network/API errors.
No schedules appear for selected date
- Check date selection first.
- Clear location filters.
- Confirm schedule blocks are effective on that date.
Team edit buttons are missing
Those controls are permission-gated. Ask an administrator to verify that your role has permission to update teams, along with the related team permissions.
