Overview

Quick actions let you start common work without leaving the page you are on. There are two kinds:

  • The Command Palette — press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere to search records and run actions such as New Customer, New Lead, New Technician and Schedule Job.
  • Record menus — the small dropdown arrow next to a customer, lead, technician or job name opens actions for that record.

The header New Quote button and ⌘. (Mac) / Ctrl+. (Windows) open the Full-Page Estimate, where all quoting happens.

What happens when I click Schedule Job on a customer?

Schedule Job in a customer's quick-actions menu, or in the customer details drawer, opens the Property & Service Manager for that customer. It opens in the customer's own branch, even when your working branch is different, and your working branch does not change. Pick a property and service, then schedule an extra cleaning or change the service. Close it with the X in the top corner; the next time you open it, it starts again at the customer's properties.

Command Palette

The Command Palette is a universal search and action launcher. Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the app to open it.

Recent Pages

When you open the Command Palette with no search query, it shows your 8 most recently visited pages and entities. This gives you instant access to the records you were just working with.

Recent entries include:

  • Pages — Sections of the app you visited (Schedule, Customers, Reports, etc.)
  • Entity records — Specific customers, leads, technicians, and jobs you viewed or searched for

Entity entries display color-coded icons by type so you can quickly scan the list:

Entity TypeColor
CustomerBlue
LeadAmber
TechnicianGreen
JobMuted gray
HomeMuted gray

If the entity has a profile photo or avatar, it appears next to the name. A subtitle line shows additional context such as the customer's address or a job's date and status.

Recent pages are stored locally in your browser. They are cleared automatically when you log out so that other users on a shared computer cannot see which records you viewed.

Flattened Quick Actions

The Command Palette (⌘K on Mac / Ctrl+K on Windows) lists individual create actions under the Quick Actions group. Each action is shown as its own item so you can jump directly to what you need:

ActionRequired FeatureRequired Permission
New CustomerQuick Action DrawerCreate Customers
New LeadQuick Action DrawerCreate Contacts
New TechnicianNoneCreate Employees
Schedule JobQuick Action DrawerCreate Jobs
Schedule EventQuick Action DrawerNone
Send MessagePulse ConnectNone

New Customer and New Lead open the Add Contact drawer with that contact type already selected, or the Full-Page Estimate if your company doesn't use Add Contact. See Adding a contact.

Actions that require a disabled feature or a permission your role does not have are hidden automatically. You only see the actions available to you.

Job Search Results

When you search in the Command Palette and select a Job result, the job detail drawer opens directly in your current page. You do not navigate away from what you were doing. All other entity types (customers, leads, technicians) navigate to their detail page as usual.

Entity Quick Action Menus

Small quick action menus appear on individual records throughout the app. Look for a small dropdown arrow next to a name on customer lists, lead lists, job cards, and technician tables.

Clicking the arrow opens a list of common actions for that specific record. The actions you see depend on your role and the record's current status. Each menu is self-contained with built-in handlers — actions execute directly from the menu without opening a separate workflow.

Customer quick action menu includes:

  • View Profile
  • Edit Customer (opens the Edit Customer drawer inline)
  • Schedule Job (opens the Property & Service Manager for that customer, in the customer's own branch, so you can schedule an extra cleaning or manage their services; your working branch does not change)
  • Pulse Connect (send a message)
  • Add Note
  • Archive or Delete

Lead quick action menu includes:

  • View Full Details
  • Edit Lead (opens the lead's Full-Page Estimate)
  • Pulse Connect (send a message)
  • Send Quote (opens the Full-Page Estimate)
  • Convert to Customer (opens the Full-Page Estimate on the Booking step; only for leads in the Quoted or Follow-up stage)
  • Add Note
  • Assign to Sales Rep
  • Close Lead

The same menu opens from the lead details panel (click a lead's name) and from a lead's Pulse Connect conversation. On a booked or closed lead, Close Lead, Convert to Customer, Send Quote and Assign to Sales Rep are hidden; Edit Lead and Add Note stay.

Technician quick action menu includes:

  • View Profile
  • Edit Technician (opens the Edit Technician drawer inline)
  • Pulse Connect (send a message)
  • Add Note
  • View Schedule

Job quick action menu includes:

  • View job details
  • Edit job
  • Reschedule
  • Skip job
  • Cancel job
  • Lockout
  • Modify recurring schedule
  • Cancel all future jobs
  • View customer

These menus let you take action without leaving a list or the Schedule page.

tip

If a quick action fails, a toast notification appears describing the error. Previously, some errors could be silently swallowed. All quick action errors now surface as visible toast messages so you know when something needs attention.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Use ⌘K / Ctrl+K to jump to a recent record or start an action from anywhere.
  • Use ⌘. to start a new quote from anywhere. You never have to navigate to a specific module first.
