Classic Experience Mode
Classic Experience Mode gives you an alternate, more traditional layout for Customer Details, Home Details, and estimate creation. It's the same data and the same features underneath — just arranged closer to the layout longtime MaidCentral users are used to.

Overview
Classic Experience Mode is a single switch on your account. Turn it on and two areas of Pulse switch to a "Classic" layout:
- Customer Details — the same tabs and data, arranged in a classic sidebar-and-tab-strip layout with homes listed at the top.
- Home Details — a dedicated page for a single property, opened by clicking a home in the Customer Details "Homes" table.
Nothing about your data changes when you switch modes — Classic is a different way to view and work with the same customers, homes, and quotes.
Estimate creation now uses the full-page estimate editor for everyone, in both Pulse and Classic mode — it's no longer a Classic-only difference. See Full-Page Estimate for details.
How to Turn On Classic Experience Mode
- Click your name or avatar in the top corner of Pulse to open the user menu.
- Find the Experience Mode toggle.
- Switch it to Classic.
Pulse reloads the current page using the Classic layout. Switch back to Pulse mode at any time from the same menu.
Classic Customer Details
With Classic Experience Mode on, opening any customer or lead shows the Classic layout: a stats sidebar, a Homes table at the top of the page, and a tab strip below it. All the same information you'd find in the standard Customer Details page — overview, billing, jobs, notes, agreements, and more — is available; it's just organized in the Classic arrangement.
Click any row in the Homes table to open that property's Classic Home Details page.
Classic Home Details
The Classic Home Details page focuses on a single property (address, access details, rooms, and service history) rather than the customer's whole account. It opens at its own page and includes these tabs:
- Service Sets — the property's recurring service plans
- Home Information — address, access notes, square footage, and other property specs
- Room Master — the list of rooms used to build service sets
- Job Schedule — upcoming and past jobs at this property
- Technicians — technician assignment history for this property
- Inspections — inspection records
- Scorecards — quality scorecards
- Images — photos attached to the property
Each tab shows the same underlying data as its Pulse-mode equivalent — see Managing Rooms and Service Locations for a closer look at how rooms and property details work.
Adding a Service Set from Classic Home Details
The Service Sets tab has two buttons for adding a new service set to the home — shown above the service set list, and also in the empty state if the property has no service sets yet:
- Create Service Set — opens a short drawer for the service set's structure only, with no pricing or frequency. Fill in Name, a Scope Group and then a Scope of Work within it (a cascading pair — pick the group first), a Default Start Time (defaults to 9:00 AM), and optionally Team(s), Special Instructions, and Special Equipment. Use this when you just need the service set to exist — for example, to match V2's non-priced service creation — and plan to price it separately.
- Quote New Service Set — opens a brand-new Full-Page Estimate, prefilled with this customer's contact info and this property's address and stats (square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, stories). Use this when you want to price and schedule the new service in one pass.
The Classic Room Master tab lists rooms in a table with Room, Location, Rotation, Last Deep Clean, Fee, Allowed Minutes, and Details columns. Click a room's name to edit it. Each row also has an Upload button to attach a photo directly to that room — accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF files up to 10 MB. This is a Classic-only shortcut: in Pulse mode, room photos are uploaded from the service set's Rooms tab instead (see Room Photos).
Creating an Estimate
Creating or editing a quote opens the full-page estimate editor — this is the same for both Pulse and Classic Experience Mode.
- Click New Quote in the header.
- Fill in the estimate using the tabs on the left.
- Review the summary panel on the right as you go — it updates live as you change pricing and scheduling details.
- Use the action bar at the bottom to save or send the quote.
See Full-Page Estimate for the complete walkthrough of every tab, field, and action.
Tips and Best Practices
- Switching modes is per-user — your teammates can stay in Pulse mode while you work in Classic, or vice versa.
- If a page or tab looks unfamiliar after switching, check whether you're in Classic or Pulse mode using the Experience Mode toggle.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | Solution |
|---|---|
| The Experience Mode toggle isn't in my user menu | Your company may not have this feature turned on yet. Contact your administrator. |
| I opened a Home Details link but got redirected | Classic Home Details is only available while Classic Experience Mode is on. Switch modes and try again. |
| The Edit button on a quote is missing | Editing requires additional permission. Ask an administrator to check your access. |
