Manual Invoice Creation

Pulse does not currently have a way to create a free-form invoice from scratch — there is no screen where you pick a customer, type in your own line items, and save or send the invoice. Every invoice in Pulse is created from one or more jobs, and its line items come from those jobs' rates and fees. Creating invoices is limited to Administrators.

How Invoices Are Created

MethodHow It WorksGuide
Per jobOn the Daily Invoicing tab, select Invoice on a job, then click Process. Pulse creates the invoice from the job's service, fees, and billing terms.Creating Invoices
BatchOn the Batch Invoicing tab, select a customer and their jobs, click Create Invoice, and choose the invoice date to combine the jobs into one grouped invoice. Only customers on the Batch Invoice billing term appear there, and the tab is only available if Batch Invoicing is enabled for your company.Batch Invoicing

Adding a Custom Charge

If you need to bill for something extra — a one-time fee, a correction, or a discount — add it to the job before you invoice it:

  1. Go to Office > Invoicing, open the Daily Invoicing tab, and find the job in Card view.
  2. Open the job's three-dot menu and choose Modify Rates.
  3. Adjust the job's rates or add a rate modification, then close the drawer.
  4. Select Invoice on the job, then click Process to create the invoice with the updated charges.

Modify Rates is only available in Card view, before the job has been invoiced, and only when the job has a service set. Rate editing must also be enabled for your company, and your role must be allowed to edit rates.
