Understanding AI Credit Usage

Each MaidSense AI feature uses credits. This guide helps you understand how credits are consumed and how to optimize your usage.

note

The Settings > AI Credits page (and the Credits tab in the MaidSense Command Center) only appears once your company has at least one credit-consuming AI feature enabled — Receptionist, Communication Agent, Tech Sentiment, or Insights. If you don't have any of those on, you won't see a Credits area at all, since there's nothing to track yet.

Credit Costs by Feature

Communication Agent (Drafting)

MaidSense drafts emails and text messages for staff to review and send before they go out.

  • AI feature dialogs

Transaction History

View all credit transactions in Settings > AI Credits > History:

  • Filter by transaction type (purchase, usage, etc.)

Optimizing Credit Usage

Use SMS Instead of Email

When appropriate, SMS drafts use 1 credit vs 2 for email.

Batch Similar Operations

Some operations share context, making them more efficient when done together.

Check Before Complex Analysis

Churn analysis uses 3 credits. Consider if sentiment analysis (1 credit) provides enough insight.

Monitor Usage Patterns

Review your usage breakdown regularly to identify areas for optimization.

Estimating Monthly Usage

Light Usage (~100 credits/month)

  • A few AI-drafted emails per day
  • Occasional sentiment analysis

Moderate Usage (~500 credits/month)

  • Regular AI communication drafting
  • Weekly churn analysis
  • Daily alert enrichment

Heavy Usage (~2,000+ credits/month)

  • High-volume AI receptionist calls
  • Extensive customer analysis
  • Multiple users actively using AI features

FAQ

Why did an operation use more credits than expected? Check the operation type. Complex operations like churn analysis use more credits than simple drafts.

Can I see who used credits? Yes, the transaction history shows the user for each operation (if available).

Do failed operations use credits? No, credits are only consumed when an operation completes successfully.

How can I reduce credit usage? Focus on the highest-value AI features for your workflow. Not every task needs AI assistance.
