Slack

Get MaidSense alerts in Slack so your team sees them where they already work.

Overview

The Slack integration lets MaidSense post messages straight into a Slack channel you choose. Instead of watching Pulse all day, your team can keep an eye on one Slack channel and react fast when something needs attention.

You connect Slack by pasting an incoming webhook URL from your Slack workspace into Pulse. Once it is turned on, MaidSense sends alerts to that channel automatically. The connection is set up per branch, so each branch can point to its own Slack channel.

You do not need Slack for Pulse to work. It is an optional way to make sure the right people see important alerts quickly.

What gets sent to Slack

When Slack notifications are enabled, MaidSense sends:

  • Schedule alerts - warnings when the day's schedule needs attention
  • Escalations - issues that have been raised for someone to handle
  • AI activity - updates about what MaidSense is doing on your behalf

Who can set this up

Setting up Slack is an admin task. You need permission to manage AI notifications for your branch. If you do not see the Slack settings described below, ask an administrator at your company to grant you access or to complete the setup for you.

Before you start

Create an incoming webhook in your own Slack workspace first. In Slack's workspace settings, add an incoming webhook and pick the channel where you want MaidSense alerts to appear. Slack gives you a webhook URL that starts with https://hooks.slack.com/. Copy that URL — you will paste it into Pulse.

Set up the Slack webhook

  1. In Pulse, go to Settings.
  2. Open the Integrations tab.
  3. Expand the Communication category, then open Slack.
  4. Turn on the Enable Slack notifications toggle.
  5. In the Incoming Webhook URL field, paste the webhook URL you copied from Slack. It must start with https://hooks.slack.com/.
  6. Click Save.

Your Slack channel is now connected. MaidSense will start posting alerts to the channel you chose.

Test the connection

  1. Make sure the Incoming Webhook URL field has a valid URL.
  2. Click Send Test.
  3. Check your Slack channel. You should see a test message arrive.

If the test works, you will see a "Test message sent!" confirmation in Pulse. If it does not, check the webhook URL and try again.
